Today the New Engine Committee spent day 1 of 2 on the blue floor at Pierce Mfg in Appleton WI for the final inspection. The committee along with our Glick’s representative Jake Bachman worked on going over everything from top to bottom to check and address any issues. The former Engine 62-1 has been sold to a Department in Chile and has left for the Seaport earlier today. The new Engine 62-1 once in service will continue to be the primary unit for all rescue nature incidents in the Witmer First due and will carry a moderate compliment of rescue equipment as well as 5 pre-connected fire attack lines. This unit features the Pierce Enforcer chassis, 500 gallon water tank, Cummins L9 450 HP diesel with the E Z Trac front axle which allows for the all wheel drive using hydraulic front wheel drive. Update on E62-1

As of Saturday Feb 16th the current E62-1 is permanently out of service and has been sold to a department in Chile.

The engine committee will be traveling to the Pierce factory at the end of next week to complete the final inspection for the new E62-1 which is a Pierce Enforcer featuring E Z Trac all wheel drive. This unit is expected to arrive at Station 62 a few weeks after final inspection and then the equipment mounting will be in full swing! While E62-1 is out of service some of the rescue equipment has been temporarily mounted on Squad 62-1 and the Squad will be utilized as the first out unit on some incidents during this time. Attached below are some of the photos from the latest production report from Pierce featuring the new E62-1. Expect another update next week as the committee completes the final inspection..
