Over the last two weeks, members of Witmer Fire have been out in the schools working with our elementary aged students. Fire Prevention was put in pause in the fall due to COVID, so we utilized this time to talk with the students at Smoketown & Fritz Elementary Schools (CV) and Locus Grove Mennonite School. Firefighters demonstrated different equipment on the apparatus and talked with the student about different fire prevention and emergency planning topics.
Did you know that between those schools, as well as Conestoga Valley’s middle and high schools, Witmer Fire protects over 3700 students and teachers within our fire district. In addition, there are many small plain schools as well as daycares.
Thank you to CV and LMH for allowing us to talk about the importance of fire safety to your students. If you have a need for a training topic at your school or business, please contact the station.
