Witmer Fire Protective Association is asking you to keep Chief Michael Creamer and his family in your thoughts and prayers at this time. Chief Creamer recently informed the department he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He will start treatment immediately. Due to his condition, he is unable to accept visitors.
Many have already reached out to ask what they can do. The family has asked that you consider donating blood. During his treatment, Chief Creamer will require daily blood transfusions and there is a blood shortage in our area. Witmer Fire is hosting its regularly scheduled blood drive on Wednesday, March 1st and appointments are available on the Penn Medicine/LG Health Blood Donation Center website. Other options for donating can be found on the website as well.
As we all try to support the family the best we can, it can become overwhelming for them. Witmer Fire has designated Vice President John Kreider, Jr. as the Public Information Officer. Any questions or concerns can be directed to him, jkreider@witmerfire.com.
Thank you for your support,
Dakota Hoak
